Unrivalled performance in a portable and affordable design
The LCpro T is an advanced, highly reliable, portable gas exchange solution for plant physiology research. Built upon ADC’s decades of expertise in infrared gas analysis, the LCpro T offers a cutting-edge tool for accurately measuring CO2 assimilation and transpiration during photosynthesis.
As the first company in the world to develop an Infrared gas analyser specifically for plant physiology, ADC BioScientific Ltd ensures that researchers have access to the most advanced technology. Designed for ease of use in field and laboratory conditions, the LCpro T provides precise, real-time data collection, making it an invaluable instrument for scientists and agronomists worldwide.
Advanced climate control for accurate measurements
The LCpro T features automatic environmental control, allowing researchers to set and regulate key climate variables within the chamber:
- CO2 Control: Adjustable up to 2000 ppm with an integral controller.
- Water Vapour Control: Ranges from above ambient down to zero.
- Temperature Control: Adjustable within ±10 °C of ambient temperature, software-limited between 1 °C to 40 °C.
- Light Control: Delivers PAR up to 2400 µmol m⁻² s⁻¹ with an RGB LED array or a 2500 µmol m⁻² s⁻¹ white LED array.
This level of control ensures that plant responses to various environmental conditions can be studied with high precision and reproducibility.
Measure chlorophyll fluorescence from the same leaf sample
A fibre optic adapter can be installed onto the broad and narrow leaf chambers, enabling the recording of chlorophyll fluorescence at the same time as gas exchange measurements. This adapter is compatible with the OS5P+ and OS1P portable fluorometers.
Take measurements for longer
The advanced Lithium-ion battery saves weight and extends the operating time to 16 hours between charges. It is also swappable, allowing you to take readings for longer periods.
10 interchangeable chambers
for versatile research
The LCpro T system supports ten different interchangeable chambers, each designed for specific research applications:
- Broad Leaf Chamber:
This chamber has climate control and is suitable for large leaves. It features a square (6.25 cm2) aperture. - Narrow Leaf Chamber:
This chamber has climate control and is designed for elongated leaves. The chamber window is 1 cm x 5.8 cm. - Conifer Chamber:
With climate control. Equipped with a radiation shield and tailored for needle-like leaves. The chamber cylinder is 6.9 cm (L) x 1.65 cm (D). - Small Leaf Chamber:
Ideal for measuring photosynthesis in small or irregularly shaped leaves. The round chamber window area is 2.16 cm2.
- NEW Stem Chamber:
Upon requests by some plant physiologists, this chamber with CO2, temperature, and water vapour control was specially designed for photosynthesis studies in non-leaf plant parts such as stems, pods, and spikelets. The inner diameter of the central tube is 22 mm, and the length is 100 mm. - Soil Respiration Chamber:
Used to measure soil CO2 / H2O, providing critical data on soil carbon flux. The chamber volume is 1 litre with a round detachable soil collar with an area of 97.5 cm2. - Tall Canopy Chamber:
This chamber is similar to the soil chamber but has a height of 1.2 m. It is designed for measuring gas exchange in tall vegetation.
- Versatile Chamber:
A two-part flexible option suitable for small plant photosynthesis, microalgal gas exchange and soil respiration. Plants can be grown inside it, or a lower collar (4” or 6”) can be inserted into the soil.

- Fruit Respiration Chamber:
Enables respiration studies in fruits and other large plant organs with a maximum diameter and height of 11 cm x 10.5 cm. - Small plant chamber:
1-litre chamber with a detachable collar (97.5 cm2 for the measurement of photosynthesis on plants up to 55 mm tall.
